VERHAGEN X2 Radio controlled mini-helicopters that lift twice their own weight

Jan Verhagen
This former Dutch national champion in remote controlled helicopter flying and self made engineer has devoted his life to improving helicopter design. Verhagen started to build movie camera's into mini-helicopters, fitted into a special gyro-stabilized pan & tilt unit. But film camera's are heavy and all this added weight made the performance of the helicopters go down. Next step: Verhagen improved the helicopter to take more weight in the nose-end, without

compromising on the flight duration and stability. This means he moved the engine to the rear. This development has progressed over a period of 25 years. A few yearsa ago, Verhagen sold his company to a large Dutch corporation specialising in defence hardware, and relocated to Burgundy, France, to develop his progressive ideas. Verhagen's research has come to fruition, his business activity regenerated to permit a full-fledged success of his technical prowess.
